Photography & Words by Leonor von Salisch ® Imprint Mag
Berlin and Haute Couture? It was a real happening during the last day of Bread & Butter (1st – 3rd of September 2017), where Viktor & Rolf presented a breathtaking show.
They showed a combination of the past three collections from their archives, consisting a variation of beautiful patchwork, vintage and existing materials. In contrast to the fashion industry, being hectic; trying to survive short life cycles creating homogeneous styles, this collection communicates a bombastic dream world.
Viktor & Rolf started to shift their focus explicitly on recycled materials. This is an innovative and daring shift within the haute couture. Presenting fashion pieces as real artworks in the way Viktor & Rolf did here, these are the first steps in the right direction. One we so desperately long for right now.
